New research reveals that strokes may be affecting people at a younger age.
The study was published in the Oct. 10 online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
"The reasons for this trend could be a rise in risk factors such as diabetes, obesity, and high cholesterol," says study author Dr. Brett Kissela, with the University of the Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.
