Providence acquires Northeast Washington Medical Group

Providence Health Care announced today it has acquired the Northeast Washington Medical Group, a multispecialty medical group that operates in Stevens, Ferry, and Pend Oreille counties.

The acquisition was completed on Jan. 1.

The group's 26 physicians and seven advanced-practice providers are expected to join Providence, as are its 118 additional employees.

The group's new name will be Providence Northeast Washington Medical Group, and it will continue to operate at its three current clinics, including two in Colville and one in Kettle Falls. The group also operates a medical laboratory that conducts about 80 percent of the laboratory tests ordered by providers in the region.

Providence says in a press release the Northeast Washington Medical Group providers care for about 24,000 patients, with annual patient visits of nearly 70,000.
