Greater Spokane Incorporated, the combined chamber of commerce and economic development council for the Spokane area, announced this afternoon that its president and CEO, Rich Hadley, will step down in April 2014.
Hadley, 66, has served as the organization's leader for 20 years.
GSI appointed Linda Elkin, of U.S. Bank, and Scott Morris, of Avista Corp., as co-chairs of its CEO search committee. A full committee is expected to be appointed next month.
Elkin, who recently was elected GSI chairwoman for the 2014-15 term, said in a press release, "Rich came to us through a national search, and we intend to do the same. As you might expect, Rich has given this a lot of thought and has outlined a month-to-month timeline of search committee activity leading up to the new CEO selection."
Hadley said in the release, "I am very proud of our talented staff and exceptional board leadership who have contributed to so many successes over the past 20 years. It's time for the organization to have its next generation of executive leadership."
