Alpine Orthopaedics & Spine PS has moved to a larger location here, at 212 E. Central, about a block north of its old location, at 220 E. Rowan, on the south side of Providence Holy Family Hospital.
The practice recently moved to a 3,000-square-foot leased space located in the newly remodeled Central Medical Office Building, says the practice's administrator, Christine Sitton. The practice formerly occupied 2,400 square feet of floor space at its office on Rowan.
The new location allows the clinic to have X-ray equipment on-site and to have an extra examination room, she says.
Sitton says the new location will improve patient flow and give the practice the capacity to treat more patients.
Dr. Miguel Schmitz, the practice's only physician, specializes in adult spinal conditions and sports medicine and performs orthopedic surgeries at Holy Family.
Schmitz formerly practiced at Spokane Orthopaedics for about two years, before branching out on his own and starting Alpine Orthopaedics last November.
Sitton says the practice is in the process of hiring another medical assistant for the new location, and currently employs seven people.
