Essential Soap & Supply expands product line

  • Print Article

Krista Sander opened Essential Soap & Supply LLC in November. Now, the soap shop owner and sole employee has reconstructed her soap line to include ingredients designed to be friendly to sensitive skin.

The 1,500-square-foot-space, located at 2324 E Euclid and leased from TEC Investments, is laden with shelves stocked with essential oils, bath bombs, and soaps.

Sander’s new line of soaps includes ingredients such as shea butter, cocoa butter, almond oil, avocado oil, clays, and charcoal. Clay and avocado are especially helpful for detoxifying, Sander says. And she says her olive oil-based products can be used on babies.

Sander says the new line might be a friendlier option than conventional products for those who have eczema, psoriasis, and acne.

Sander previously worked for a soap store where she learned the trade and decided to branch out on her own. She also offers one-on-one soap and bath bomb making classes where customers can receive 12 bars of soap from one session.

Customers can find products with their favorite scents including rosemary, cedar, black pine and patchouli, tarragon and orange, and almond. Sander also sells kits customers can use to make their own soaps and bath bombs at home. Supplies include lotion bases and lip balm bases for those who want to try their hand at creating their own mixtures.
