New retail center nears completion on Division Street
One tenant has signed lease, others interestedApril 25th, 2019
Wandermere Retail Investors LLC is developing a new retail center at 11921 N. Division that will be called Wandermere Glen Retail.
Jeff Johnson, president of Spokane-based commercial real estate and property management company NAI Black’s brokerage and sales division, Black Commercial Inc., and Jeff McCloskey, owner and CEO of Spokane-based contractor McCloskey Construction Inc., are involved in the limited-liability company developing the retail building, which is nearing completion this month.
Johnson says the new structure was designed by Spokane-based Mercier Architecture & Planning, and McCloskey Construction is serving as the contractor for the project.
“The idea for this project was to create a facility that would meet the demand for retail space we’ve been seeing in this area,” he says.
He says the single-story, 6,900-square-foot building has space for a total of four retail tenants and is expected to be available soon for tenants to occupy.
“We started construction in September, and are nearly finished now,” says Johnson.
He says the building’s northern most space has already been leased to The Barre Code, a fitness studio geared toward women, which offers barre class-type workouts with varied purposes, such as cardio or strength training.
“The center portion can be divided into two 1,300-square-foot tenant spaces,” he says. “The remaining 2,000-square-foot southern-most space has a drive-thru feature that would be ideal for a restaurant, coffee shop, or banking tenants.”
Johnson says several potential tenants including a coffee shop and a chiropractor’s office, have expressed interest in occupying the remaining spaces.
“The building sits up from the street and some of the spaces have really nice, high ceilings,” he says. “It turned out really well, so we anticipate it will lease up quickly.”
