Cell Phone Outlet Inc., a Spokane-based Verizon Wireless retailer, plans to move its Spokane Valley outlet into a larger space in a building soon to be constructed at the Argonne Village shopping center, says Darrin Tawney, Cell Phone Outlet CEO.

Tawney says the Cell Phone Outlet store has leased 1,250 square feet of space in the planned 2,500-square-foot, two-tenant building, to be erected at 9511 E. Montgomery. The project site is on a vacant parcel of land in Argonne Village, just east of a Yoke's Fresh Market grocery store in which the Valley Cell Phone Outlet store currently is located.

Construction is scheduled to begin on Oct. 1, and Cell Phone Outlet hopes to open in the building Dec. 1, Tawney says.

Waynco Construction Inc., of Spokane Valley, is the contractor on the project, he says.

Robert Rosier, who owns Waynco Construction, also is a principal of Romax Associates, of Spokane, which owns Argonne Village.

The Valley store currently employs three people, and a fourth employee will be hired at the new outlet, he says. Altogether, Cell Phone Outlet employs 13 people at four locations. Its other outlets are in the Manito Shopping Center, at 3017 S. Grand; the Yoke's Fresh Market in Deer Park; and the Super 1 Foods grocery store in Rathdrum, Idaho.

Colin Conway, of the Spokane-based commercial real estate brokerage Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the lease.
