MacDonald-Miller expands into Spokane market
Seattle-based facilities company has connections with contractors hereJuly 15th, 2021
Mechanical contractor MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions Inc. has established an office in Spokane, its second in the Inland Northwest.
Based in Seattle, MacDonald-Miller provides energy efficient building systems, mechanical repairs, construction services, and building controls automation for new and existing commercial buildings.
Inland Northwest general manager Pat Roberts returned to the company in 2020 to lead the expansion. Roberts says MacDonald-Miller has had projects in the Spokane area for about 15 years.
“While we have had a small presence in the area in the past, we see Spokane as a regional hub for a rapidly expanding market and are truly excited about being a permanent part of the community, going forward,” Roberts says.
He adds, “In addition to seeing Spokane as a hub for the larger region, we recognize how highly desirable the area is as a place to live and work, attracting more and more businesses.”
Roberts says the company’s operations here are aimed at serving the health care and data center markets.
The Spokane office occupies about 900 square feet in the Lincoln Plaza, at 818 W. Riverside, where about 10 employees work. Roberts says the company has a total of 30 employees.
In addition to construction services, including design, fabrication, and installation of sheet metal and plumbing for commercial buildings, MacDonald-Miller provides improvements to ventilation, filtration, and humidity systems, energy efficiency programs, and smart building services.
MacDonald-Miller’s service area includes Washington state, North Idaho, and eastern Oregon. In addition to its new Spokane presence, the company has five other offices Washington—in Seattle, Everett, Bellevue, Tacoma, Kennewick—and two in Oregon—in Portland and Eugene.
In Washington, the mechanical contractor has been involved in high-profile projects such as NorthTown Mall, in Spokane; Suncadia Resort, in Cle Elum; T-Mobile headquarters, in Bellevue; and Wenatchee Valley College, in Wenatchee.
In 2019, the Puget Sound Business Journal named MacDonald-Miller to its list of Washington’s Best Workplaces.
