Tenant improvements underway for Caliber Collision Center
North Side auto-body shop project expected to be completed in DecemberOctober 7th, 2021
The city of Spokane has issued a building permit for remodel work valued at $750,000 for a new auto body shop in a building at 6430 N. Lidgerwood, east of the Lowes Cos. home improvement store on Spokane’s North Side.
Caliber Collision Centers, a national chain of automobile collision repair and paint shops, will occupy the building, says Dalinn Morrow, a project manager for Allen, Texas-based Cross Architects, which is designing the project through affiliate Bret Flory Architect.
Bountiful, Utah-based Stout Building Contractors LLC is the contractor for the project, according to permit documents. Spokane developer Harlan Douglass owns the property.
The building is on the west side of Lidgerwood Street, between Francis and Lyons avenues.
Tenant improvements to the 18,700-square-foot building will include a new office and a renovated auto shop space, Morrow says. The shop floor will take up most of the space in the building, he says.
The shop site is on 1.5 acres of land with 17 parking spaces for short-term vehicle storage and 28 employee and customer spaces, site plans show.
Morrow says the parking lot doesn’t need any improvements, as it’s new. Site plans show a new 240-square-foot concrete dumpster pad will be installed on the south end of the building as well as a new concrete ramp on the east side of the building. The plans describe a proposed 6-foot-tall chain-link fence with black vision slats for privacy, however Morrow says the fence type has yet to be determined.
Construction began a few weeks ago and is expected to be completed in December, Morrow says.
