Outdoor storage yard planned on West Plains

Company seeks conditional-use permit for project

Pacific Land Holdings LLC, of Everett, Washington, plans this spring to build an outdoor recreational vehicle and automobile storage yard, to be located at 12032 W. 21st, in Airway Heights.

Environmental documents show commercial buildings totaling 90,000 square feet and 112 parking spaces are being considered for future phases.

Zachary Becker, planning technician with the city of Airway Heights, says Kevin Bahnmiller, principal for Pacific Land Holdings, submitted the permit application with the city for the storage yard. Sharp Excavations Inc., of Spokane, is the contractor for the project.

Paul Douglass, of Everett, Washington-based 2812 Architecture, is designing the project, and Spokane Valley-based Simpson Engineers Inc. is providing engineering services.

Becker says Pacific Land Holdings hasn’t disclosed an estimated value for the current project, but he adds that not much work is needed to create an outdoor storage yard for cars and RVs. Pacific Land Holdings purchased the 5-acre parcel in January 2021 for $224,000, according to state real estate tax records.

“If the conditional permit is approved, the project will have grading performed as well as a fence built,” says Becker.

Pacific Land Holdings envisions at least two additional construction phases the site, says Becker, although applications for that expansion haven’t been submitted to the city yet.
