Worthy Enterprises, of Spokane, says it plans to develop a five-story office building just east of the Spokane Valley Mall.

The company, headed by Walt Worthy, who has developed several office-building projects in the Spokane area, plans to build the office structure on 10 acres of land its buying from Spokane Valley-based Hanson Industries Inc., says Jack Marr, director of leasing at Worthy Enterprises. The site is located at 16201 E. Indiana., on the north side of the street, a short distance east of Sullivan Road and just south of the Spokane River.

The project, to be called the River View Corporate Center, is to include a 250,000-square-foot Class A office building and a separate one-level parking garage, Marr says. The parking garage and surface-level parking will provide a total of more than 1,250 parking spots, he says.

Construction is expected to start May 1 and to be completed in late fall, he says. Worthy Enterprises, which will be the contractor for the project, will construct the buildings shell and do tenant improvements as leases are signed, says Marr, who is marketing the property. Spokane-based Madsen Mitchell Evenson & Conrad PLLC, of Spokane, designed the project, he says. Style elements in the building will include glass, granite, pre-cast concrete, and tile, he says.

Worthy says an estimated cost for the office complex isnt available.

We have a great team thats been together for 15 to 20 years, and this is something were good at doing, so were going to do more of it, Worthy says. Its a fantastic location, and we like the idea of being along the river and freeway and near the mall.

Other projects that Worthy Enterprises has developed here over the years include the Rock Pointe Corporate Center north of downtown Spokane and the renovated Davenport Hotel and the adjacent Davenport Tower downtown.
