Another Successful Event!

Our seventh annual Workforce Summit was a resounding success and provided us a venue for important dialogue about the workforce gaps impacting our economy and how we, as a community, educators, and employers need to adapt to a changing landscape. Our expert speakers and panelists talked about the skills needed for the future, K-12's role in moving students past secondary education, students' perspectives about the journey, and in what population groups we should focusing on as we try to expand our workforce.

Speakers included:

Dr. Shari McMahan, President of Eastern Washington University

Dr. Kevin Brockbank, Chancellor of Community Colleges of Spokane

Julie Orchard, Chief Human Resource Officer INW at Providence Health Care

Dr. Adam Swinyard, Superintendent of Spokane Public Schools

Ben Small, Executive Director of LaunchNW, Innovia Foundation

Steve McBride, VP Operations at Skils'kin

Cami Eakins, CEO of Career Path Services

Dr. Patrick Jones, executive director of the Institute for Public Policy & Economic Analysis, EWU

And more ...
