Crossland hotel in Spokane Valley to become HomeTowne

Property is among 30-plus nationwide to be rebranded

Ohio-based economy hotel chain Red Roof Inn says it plans to launch a new extended-stay sub-brand to be named HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof.

The phased launch will involve more than 30 properties across 21 markets, including Spokane and Seattle, the company says in a press release.

When contacted by the Journal, a company representative said those 30 properties are part of a portfolio of former Crossland Studio properties purchased by Red Roof’s parent company, Westmont Hospitality Group, and an institutional investor in 2015.

The company says those properties will be rebranded as HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof upon completion of $50 million in renovations.

Red Roof says it plans to open about a dozen of the rebranded properties within the next 12 months, one of which will be the former Crossland Economy Studios, at 12803 E. Sprague, in Spokane Valley.

The new brand will offer all of the same qualities its parent company is known for providing at its other properties, claims Red Roof’s chief marketing officer Marina MacDonald.

“They’ll be available with the basic essentials of an extended stay,” says MacDonald.

According to the release, the soon-to-be launched HomeTowne live-in studios and suites will include a kitchenette with full-sized refrigerator, microwave, sink, kitchen table and chairs.

Outside of the kitchenette, guests can expect brand new bedding, high-definition televisions, 24-hour laundry rooms, and complimentary morning coffee.

HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof also will offer a kitchen kit for a low additional charge that includes a full dish and silverware set that guests can keep after their stay. Additionally, all guests will be eligible to participate in RediCard, Red Roof’s loyalty program.

Red Roof is an economy hotel chain started by James Trueman in Columbus Ohio in 1973. The company now includes over 550 properties in the U.S. and has expanded internationally to Brazil and Japan.

Red Roof properties are pet-friendly and can be distinguished by the large dark-red shingle roof that gives them their name. The Red Roof Inn brand portfolio also includes Red Roof PLUS+ and The Red Collection.
