Skils’kin acquires A&W Window Cleaning

Founders to focus on pest control company

Skils’kin, a Spokane-based nonprofit organization that provides jobs for people with disabilities, has acquired Fearless Endeavors LLC, a longtime Spokane window-cleaning company that does business as A&W Window Cleaning.

Brian Behler, CEO of Skils’kin, says the nonprofit has commercial and federal-government customers to whom the organization provides custodial, product-assembly, grounds-maintenance, and laundry services.

“The acquisition of A&W Window Cleaning is consistent with our relentless focus on building the commercial services division of our company,” Behler says.

Dave Kelly, who co-owned A&W with his wife, Tracy, says the company provides gutter cleaning and pressure-washing services, in addition to window cleaning.

The Kellys founded the company, which currently has six employees, in 1989.

“It’s a win-win for everybody,” Kelly says of the transaction. “It helps my existing customers that Skils’kin can add more features to the services we already do, and they’ve already got a great staff that’s ready to take it on and take it over.”

He declines to disclose the terms of the transaction.

A&W complements Skils’kin’s existing services well, Kelly says.

“It enhances what they do immensely,” he says. “They do full janitorial. They do a lot of groundskeeping out at Fairchild.”

The A&W name will remain unchanged, and the company’s six employees are being retained, Kelly says.

The couple will transition to focusing on Critter Control of Greater Spokane, a pest control business they own here, Kelly says.

Skils’kin was established in 1970 and is based at 4004 E. Boone. The company employs 186 people here, according to the Journal’s most recent list of Spokane-area nonprofits.
