Home builder starts real estate brokerage here

Larry Kloetsch says agency will focus on residential

November 25, 2009
David Cole

Larry Kloetsch, a general contractor and custom home builder, says he is establishing a real estate brokerage herecalled RSVP Real Estate Group Inc.

Kloetsch is president of RSVP Construction Inc., of Spokane, which builds custom homes, does remodeling, and handles some commercial projects. The construction company was established here in 1971. Kloetsch says he has a background in real estate and that opening a real estate brokerage pairs well with his construction operations.

In July 2008, Kloetsch opened a branch of his brother's Bellevue, Wash., brokerage, RSVP Real Estate Inc., but that branch closed, he says. Kloetsch and his brother, Steve Kloetsch, will operate their brokerages separately, though they will network their sales across the state and might consider future statewide expansion.

Larry Kloetsch says the new brokerage's primary business segment will be residential sales, along with some commercial sales and leasing.

Kloetsch says he is looking for office space for his new brokerage and is recruiting agents, who will be independent contractors. He says his brokerage should grow fast because agents will receive 100 percent of the commission on their sales and will pay minimal transaction fees to the brokerage.

"The business model we're offering will really help agents stay in business," Kloetsch says.
