Cintas Corp. relocates to Valley park

Big uniform-rental concern grows quickly during first two years in Spokane

February 26, 1997
Linn Parish

Having grown quickly in the Spokane market, Cintas Corp., a Cincinnati-based uniform-rental company, has moved to larger quarters in Spokane Valley and is considering building its own facility here in the future.

The big, publicly-traded company has leased about 13,000 square feet of office-and-warehouse space in the Spokane Business & Industrial Park, at 3808 N. Sullivan, and has moved there from smaller quarters at 409 N. Thierman, also in Spokane Valley, says Bill Roberts, general manager of the Spokane operation.

Roberts says Cintas needed more space to accommodate its fast-growing Spokane operation, which expanded here from its Yakima location two years ago. The operation here currently employs 20 people, more than double what it had when it started up here.

That employment number could jump significantly if Cintas decides later to build its own facility here, Roberts says. He says such a project likely wouldnt happen for at least two years, and details about the size and scope of a new facility arent available yet. He says, however, such a facility might employ about 80 people and eventually could be as large as the Yakima operation, which employs more than 100 people.

Cintas operates locations throughout the U.S. In addition to uniform rentals, the company offers such services as floor-mat and soap-dispenser rentals, and first-aid and safety equipment rentals.

Dean Stuart and Stanley Converse, both of Crown West Realty LLC, handled the lease of space for Cintas.
