Alliant Insurance Services, an Irvine, California-based company with a presence in Spokane, has acquired Coeur d'Alene-based employee-benefits agency Advanced Benefits.
Alliant and Advanced Benefits declined to disclose the terms of the transaction, but said the entire Advanced Benefits team will join Alliant. Founded in 1993, Advanced Benefits has about 30 employees companywide, including 24 who work at its office at 2448 N. Merritt Creek Loop, in Coeur d'Alene's Riverstone neighborhood. The balance work in its office at 405 W. Myrtle, in Boise.
According to the Journal's Employee Benefits Brokers list, Alliant had more than 170 people working in the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene area before the most recent acquisition. Of those, 65 worked in employee benefits, as of last August. The company's main Spokane office is located on the eighth floor of the Lincoln Building, at 818 W. Riverside, in downtown Spokane.
Alliant first entered the Spokane market in 2014 when it acquired longtime insurance and benefits brokerage Moloney O'Neill, which was founded in Spokane in 1947 and employed just under 100 people at the time.
Companywide, Alliant has just over 200 offices in 35 states and two Canadian provinces, with a total of roughly 8,800 employees.
