Florida company acquires Spokane Valley-based software developer Configio LLC

Purchase of Configio LLC is one of four this year

August 17, 2017

Florida-based Community Brands LLC has acquired Spokane Valley-based Configio LLC, a software development company, making Configio one of four companies Community Brands has purchased since April.

Configio, located at 1421 N. Mullan Road, has an employee roster of 20 that will be retained, says Andy Prince, senior director of corporate communications at Abila Inc., one of the companies Community Brands purchased. Abila is located in Austin, Texas.

“Obviously, you can imagine that acquiring four companies in such a short period is going to take some time and planning to work out,” Prince says. “Based on Community Brands’ acquisitions, I would anticipate hiring and growth at Configio.”

Prince declines to disclose terms of the transaction.

Configio develops cloud-based software for event and activity-based organizations to help them better manage their membership lists, clients, and participants, and compile marketing data. Configio will continue to perform the same duties for Community Brands, Prince says.

Configio was founded here in 2005, initially as Intertech Professionals LLC. The company started operations inside the Mt. Spokane Church, at 6311 E. Mt. Spokane Park Drive, before moving to its current 3,000-square-foot-leased space in 2012.

Intertech changed its name to My Custom IT LLC in 2012, then to Configio last year, says Configio’s website.

Community Brands is a software developer with more than 13,000 clients. Prince says the company now has more than 800 employees.
