ClearRF LLC, a Spokane Valley company with ties to manufacturer Servatron Inc., has been acquired for $700,000, according to proprietary market data software subscription platform PitchBook.

Montreal, Canada-based Siyata Mobile reached a definitive agreement to buy Servatron on March 24, PitchBook data indicates.

A representative of ClearRF couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.

ClearRF, a producer of wireless phone signal amplifiers designed to provide a consistent signal and prevent dropped calls, was founded in 2009 by six Servatron Inc. employees, including Servatron principals Tod Byers, John Muskulin, and Keith Swenson. The company is located within Servatron’s Spokane Valley offices at 12825 E. Mirabeau Parkway. Servatron is also the contract manufacturer for ClearRF.

ClearRF amplifiers are made for machine-to-machine and Internet of Things applications, according to PitchBook. As previously reported by the Journal, ClearRF’s customers have included Avista Corp., the Idaho Transportation Department, and the Washington state Department of Transportation.

Siyata Mobile is a cellular communications system developer that specializes in vehicle products for professional fleets. The company offers products such as a consumer wireless signal booster and a push-to-talk cellular device for professional drivers. 

PitchBook notes that the ClearRF acquisition could enable Siyata Mobile to enter large-scale U.S. military and government markets that have special budgets for U.S.-made products.

Servatron was acquired in mid-2019 for $28.5 million by U.K.-based electronics manufacturer Volex PLC. 

As of Nov. 1, 2020, Servatron had 174 employees, down from 231 employees a year earlier, according to the Journal’s latest list of largest Spokane County employers.
