Meeting House café prepares to open in Perry District

Restaurants & Retail

Nina Booth, operations manager for the Meeting House, in Spokane’s South Perry District, says she expects the new café and coffee shop to open Feb. 3.

The café is located at 1801 E. 11th, which is two blocks east of South Perry Pizza.

Founded by Spokane developers Bob Boyce and Rob Brewster, Meeting House LLC plans to hire at least a dozen employees initially, Booth says.

Featuring Spokane-based Roast House coffee, Meeting House will offer a light, exclusively organic menu. Pastries, salads, sandwiches, and soups will highlight the menu. Meeting House will have a seating capacity of 64 people, she says.

The café will be open 7 a.m.-5 p.m. every day.

Booth, who has worked in the restaurant industry for more than 30 years, says she applied for the operations manager position at the Meeting House more than a year ago.

She once ran a chain of four restaurants in Seattle and says she also has extensive experience working for independent restaurants.

Booth says she lives about 10 minutes away from the Meeting House and feels as though that part of the Perry District is ripe for a
café.

“We want lots of people to come here, not just those from the (Perry) District,” she says.
