Airport Ramada revamps courtyard

The Ramada by Wyndham at Spokane Airport, 8909 W. Airport Drive, plans to add new outdoor features to its courtyard space.

The hotel’s general manager, Denise Vickerman, says the 30,800-square-foot space formerly housed an outdoor pool, which has been removed in favor of a new courtyard design.

The courtyard, which is located just to the right of the hotel lobby and restaurant space, features three firepits, each with its own surrounding patio space that can be enjoyed by guests—or rented for small events or parties.

Vickerman says the courtyard also is near the hotel’s indoor pool entrance, which will allow guests to transition between the spaces.

“One thing our guests consistently asked about was outdoor dining space,” says Vickerman. “This new courtyard gives them a direct line from our restaurant, breakfast, or indoor pool areas to enjoy their food outside.”

Vickerman says the outdoor space was designed by The McGough Group of Scottsdale, Ariz., with contracting work being completed through the hotel’s Scottsdale-based corporate offices, Camelback Hotel Corp.

Spokane-based Four Seasons Lawn & Tree Care handled landscaping.

She says the last of the landscaping on the project was completed last week, and the hotel is waiting on additional furniture for the fire pit areas.

“Guest can use the courtyard now, if they’d like, but we are still waiting on some additional seating for certain areas,” she says. “We anticipate the courtyard will be fully complete by the middle of July.”
