The Spokane chapter of the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance will hold its general meeting on Thursday, July 18, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Lincoln Center, 1316 N. Lincoln. The cost is $25 and includes dinner. To register, email [email protected].

Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold a business connections lunch on Friday, July 19, at 11:30 a.m., at Felts Field, 6105 E. Rutter, in the Northwest MedStar hangar. Greater Spokane Incorporated will hold Business After Hours and Chamber Night with the Spokane Indians on Thursday, July 25, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with the baseball game immediately following, at Avista Stadium, 602 N. Workshops & Seminars



Tincan, the nonprofit organization that uses information technology and interactive media for education and community development, will offer the following free technology training workshops: Online Job Searching, Thursday, July 18, from 4 to 5 p.m.; Internet Basics, Tuesdays, July 23 and 30, from 4 to 5 p.m.; Basic Windows 7, Wednesday, July 24, from 4 to 5 p.m.; and Basic Video: Exporting and Uploading, Monday, July 29, from 4 to 5 p.m. Workshops will be held at 1317 W. The Washington State Small Business Development Center will hold a Ready, Set Export! introductory workshop on Thursday, July 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the WSBDC Export Readiness Center, 1235 N. Post. The cost is $25. WSBDC also will hold a free Behavioral Interviewing workshop on Tuesday, July 23, from 8 to 11 a.m., at the WSBDC office, 665 N. Riverpoint Blvd. Jack Kaplan, of WorkSource Spokane, will teach. WSBDC also will hold a Financial Management-Break Even and Cash Flow Analysis workshop on Thursday, July 25, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the WSBDC office, 665 N. Riverpoint Blvd. The cost is $45. SCORE will offer the following training workshops: Small Business Marketing and Sales, Wednesday, July 24, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Social Media for Small Business 301, that day from 1 to 3 p.m.; Quickbooks Financial Management, Wednesday, July 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and How to Start a New Business, Wednesday, August 7, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The workshops will be held at the Spokane Regional Business Center, 801 W. Riverside. The cost for each of the workshops is $40 pre-registered, $50 at the door, and $15 for an additional person from the same company. The American Society for Training and Development's Inland Northwest chapter will hold a workshop called Creating a Culture: Why is Everyone in Munchkinland so Happy? on Wednesday, July 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at CenterPlace, 2426 N. Discovery Place, in Spokane Valley. Stacy Blaker Barnes, corporate training manager of Red Lion Hotels Corp, will lead the discussion. The event is free for members and $10 for others.
