Baxter Performance to expand into retail markets

Dealerships, repair shops may carry products made by Baxter Performance

March 10, 2022

Spokane Valley-based manufacturer Baxter Performance is expanding its line of automotive oil filter adaptors to be placed in car dealerships and service garages for retail sales.

Kevin Baxter, president of Baxter Performance says of the move: “By making our products available to dealers and garages, it opens up a lot of new income earning potential for other businesses.”

Baxter adds that those who wish to carry the manufacturer’s line of adaptors also will have access to the company’s customer service and will be listed and promoted directly from the company’s website and social media.

Baxter Performance adaptors convert cartridge oil filter systems to allow mounting of spin-on oil filters that contain an anti-drain-back valve. Such valves retain oil in the engine, allowing it to circulate quicker when the engine is started, says Baxter.

As reported in the Journal last year, the company expanded its automotive oil filter adaptor line to serve vehicles manufactured by Fiat Chrysler—now Stellantis—Ford, General Motors, and Subaru. The company also makes aftermarket filter adaptors for other car makes, including some Lexus, Jeep, Volkswagen, and Dodge models.

Baxter, along with a couple of silent partners, started the company in 2015 after identifying a need for oil filter adaptors for Toyota engines, which typically used cartridge filters.

Baxter Performance has three employees and is located at 11616 E. Montgomery, in Spokane Valley, where the adaptors are assembled and shipped.

Baxter says the company has previously sold its products exclusively online but has received a lot of inquiries from potential retailers.
