AHBL Inc., a Tacoma, Washington-based structural and civil engineering fim, has moved its Spokane office to the third floor of the Chase Building, at 601 W. Main, in downtown Spokane, says Tim Hansen, AHBL’s chief operating officer.

The new office occupies 3,400 square feet with an improved open floor plan suited for collaboration and future growth, according to a press release from the company.

Currently, AHBL employs 13 in Spokane and plans to add to its staff in the new year. The new space will accommodate up to 21 employees, the release says.

The company previously was located in smaller quarters in the Courtyard Office Center, at 827 W. First, less than a half-mile southwest of the Chase Building.

Carpita Construction LLC, of Newman Lake, was the general contractor for tenant improvements, Hansen says.

Jason Jackson, of Kiemle Hagood, and Jon Jeffreys, of Black Commercial Inc., handled the transaction.

Founded in 1969 AHBL has 140-plus employees in four offices in Washington state. In addition to the Spokane and Tacoma locations, it has a presence in Seattle and the Tri-Cities.

AHBL opened its Spokane office in 2008, starting with two employees.
