Kleur Style House, a new hair salon, has opened at 1604 N. Monroe. Owner Haley Hotchkiss says the business occupies a 1,900-square-foot recently remodeled leased space that previously was vacant.

“We did all the design and remodeling work ourselves,” Hotchkiss says.

The shop has eight salon stations and a treatment room for an esthetician who will start work this month, she says.

Hotchkiss is a Spokane native who attended beauty school at Paul Mitchell The School Spokane, and previously worked at Moxie Salon & Spa and Kiss& Make-Up salons here before opening her own salon.

“I’ve been a hairstylist for four years now, and recently got my barber certification at the London School of Barbering,” she adds. “It’s always been my goal to open a salon.”

In addition to haircuts, color, and styling, Hotchkiss says the salon also offers barbering services and soon will offer waxing and skin care
treatment options.

“We currently sell Kevin Murphy and Loma hair products as well,”
she says.

In addition to Hotchkiss, the shop has three hairstylists, and one esthetician, who rent booth space at
the salon.

“So far, we’ve got some great gals working here and I’m excited to cultivate this space as a home for both stylists and clients,” says Hotchkiss. “I want this to be a place where we can also host some fun, educational events for other stylists and create a collaborative community.”
