Red Lion Hotels Corp., of Spokane, announced this morning it has sold two properties, the Red Lion Hotel Columbia Center, in Kennewick, Wash., and the Red Lion Hotel Canyon Springs, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
In both transactions, the new owners have signed franchise agreements and will continue to operate the hotels under the Red Lion name. Also, Red Lion said in a press release, both new owners have agreed to what the company called significant property-improvement plans.
The Kennewick property, located three blocks from the Three Rivers Convention Center and Toyota Center arena, has 162 guest rooms and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. Red Lion said the new owner plans to update guest rooms at the property and improve landscaping and parking.
The Twin Falls property has 112 guest rooms and nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space. Improvement plans call for upgrading guest rooms and improving curb appeal.
Including both franchise and corporate-owned properties, Red Lion currently has 53 hotels in 10 western U.S. states and one Canadian province.
