Spokane Valley print shop changes hands
Minuteman Press franchise to relocate, retain Lancer employeesJune 16th, 2022
Troy and Collette Bise, co-owners of Minuteman Press-Spokane Valley, have acquired Lancer Ltd., a commercial printer, also in Spokane Valley.
Minuteman Press-Spokane Valley plans to relocate from its current 2,700-square-foot facility, at 111 N. Vista Road, in Spokane Valley, to a building more than five times as large.
Troy Bise declines to disclose the terms of the transaction, which includes Lancer’s business and assets.
The Lancer Ltd. building, at 10020 E. Montgomery Drive, is located about three miles northeast of the Vista Road facility and has about 15,000 square feet.
Troy Bise says the company anticipates fully occupying the Lancer building by Aug. 1, after completing renovations.
He says, “This was a big move for us because we were up against the walls at the other location.”
Tenant improvements at the Lancer site will include constructing a retail storefront with a lobby, Bise explains.
The company will retain Lancer’s six employees, for a staff total of 11.
The company initially will keep the Lancer name as a co-brand before fully transitioning to operate as Minuteman Press-Spokane Valley.
With the acquisition, Minuteman Press-Spokane Valley’s services now include digital presses and printing, offset printing, graphic design services, and wide-format printing on vinyl and window decals. The company also offers printing on promotional products.
Lancer was founded in 1975 offering microfilm billing services—a relic of printing services from before the time of personal computers.
Bise has been the franchise owner of Minuteman Press-Spokane Valley for about three years, he says.
Lancer is the second company Minuteman Press-Spokane Valley has acquired this year. It had previously acquired Hero Graphics, which allows the full-service commercial printing company to now offer vehicle and boat wraps and installation services.
