Plastic parts maker adds to Cd'A plant

Accurate Molded Plastics says $665,000 addition will alleviate crowding

February 25, 2010
Mike McLean

Accurate Molded Plastics Inc., of Coeur d'Alene, is erecting a 20,000-square-foot addition at its manufacturing plant there, says Scott Gabbert, the company's general manager.

The company currently occupies about 35,000 square feet of floor space at 3910 Industrial Ave., in the Coeur d'Alene Industrial Park.

Accurate Molded Plastics is acting as its own contractor on the $665,000 project, Gabbert says. Lindquist Architects PS, of Spokane Valley designed the project, and Spokane Structures Inc., of Spokane Valley, is supplying parts and materials for it.

The addition will provide new work areas for some of the company's 160 employees, many of whom currently work in tight space, Gabbert says. Accurate Molded Plastics doesn't plan to add staff in the immediate future.

Accurate Molded Plastics hopes to complete construction of the one-story structure in April, Gabbert says.

The 37-year-old company makes plastic parts used in aerospace, electronic, medical, and consumer products. Its revenues mostly have grown in recent years, although they were flat last year, Gabbert says.
