JBI Properties LLC, of Spokane Valley, is holding a free open house and seminar on Thursday, July 30, on How Universal Design Concepts picks up where ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) compliance leaves off, from 4:30-5:30 p.m., at 9614 N. Marketing Associates of Spokane will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Red Lion Inn at the Park, 201 W. North River Drive. The guest speaker is John Sporleder, of Spokane, founder and president of Sporleder Human Capital. Sporleder will give a lecture, titled The Art of Behavior Awareness. Merrily Bjerkestrand, etiquette consultant and director of the Northwest School of Protocol, of Spokane, will be the guest speaker at the Inland Northwest Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners' regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 13, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Davenport Hotel, 10 S. National Seminars Training Group, of Shawnee Mission, Kan., will present a workshop, titled Payroll Law, on Aug. 10, at the Spokane Mirabeau Hotel, at 1100 N. Sullivan, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $199. The group also will present Cool, Confident, and Collected Managing Conflict for Women, on Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park, at 303 W. Inland Northwest Health Services, of Spokane, will hold a Basic Life Support training course for health-care professionals on responding to cardiac and respiratory emergencies, on Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 7:45 a.m. to noon, at St. Luke's Rehabilitation Institute, 711 S. Cowley, for a cost of $65. The same day, from 6 to 8 p.m., INHS will present another training course, titled, CPR Friends and Family Pediatric, also at St. Luke's, for a cost of $25.
