Business park secures three more tenants

Wine supplier, office-panel maker open new centers; hydraulic vendor moves

July 16, 2009
Mike McLean

The Spokane Business & Industrial Park, in Spokane Valley, says it has landed three new tenants that have leased a combined 25,600 square feet of floor space in its big complex at 3808 N. Sullivan.

One tenant, Young's-Columbia of Washington LLC, a joint venture between Young's Market Co., of Orange, Calif., and Portland, Ore.-based Columbia Distributing Co., has leased 6,400 square feet of office and warehouse space.

Young's-Columbia's Heidi Holmes says the company distributes Northwest wines, including such brands as Columbia Winery, Covey Run, and Desert Wind, as well as a variety of U.S. and imported brands that it handles exclusively. The distributor's new Spokane Valley facility has 15 employees, and the company has seven other distribution centers in Washington state and Oregon, Holmes says.

Another new tenant, Portland, Ore.-based Pacific PowerTech LLC, has leased about 9,600 square feet of floor space at the SBIP and has movedits Spokane Valley operation there from smaller quarters at 11712 E. Montgomery, says Alan Crow, the company's president. Pacific PowerTech distributes hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication components.

The company employs nine people here, and the larger space will accommodate growth, Crow says. Its other operations are in Seattle and Eugene, Ore.

SBIP says the other new tenant, Gallant North America LLC, has leased 9,600 square feet of floor space. Gallant North America is a Zeeland, Mich.-based manufacturer of molded fiberglass products, specializing in office-panel systems. Executives at Gallant were unavailable for comment.

Dean Stuart, SBIP's director of marketing, handled the Young's-Columbia lease, and Chase Breckner, SBIP marketing specialist, handled the Pacific PowerTech and Gallant North America leases.
