The Spokane-Area Law Librarians Association will meet on Wednesday, May 20, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the offices of Lukins & Annis PS, 717 W. Sprague. Workshops & Seminars
The first session of an eight-day workshop titled Living Leadership will take place Monday through Thursday, May 11-15, at the Service Station, 9315 N. Nevada, and will meet again June 8-11. The Inland Northwest Society of Human Resource Managers will meet for a lunch seminar titled Driving Regional Economic Prosperity, on Tuesday, May 12, from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Red Lion River Inn, 700 N. Division. The cost is $17 for members or $20 for others. Register at www.inshrm.org.



The National Seminars Training group will present the following workshops, each taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Powerful Communication Skills for Women, on Tuesday, May 12, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 9015 W. Hwy 2, $139; Business Grammar and Proofreading, on Wednesday, May 13, at the Mirabeau Park Hotel, 1100 N. Sullivan, $179; Human Resources and the Law, on Thursday and Friday, May 14-15, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 9015 W. The Marketing Associates of Spokane group will hold a workshop titled Search Engine Optimization and Marketing: What You Don't Know and What it's Costing You, on Thursday, May 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park, 303 W. The local chapter of Apics, The Organization for Operations Management, will present a workshop titled Distribution of Inventory Management, on Wednesday, May 13, from 1 to 5 p.m., at the CenterPlace Regional Event Center, 2426 N. Discovery Place, at a cost of $100. Call 279-6030 to register.



The Inland Northwest chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners will meet for a dinner presentation titled Aging Issues Impacting Your Business and Your Life, on Thursday, May 14, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Hotel Lusso, 1 N. The national organization Neighborhoods USA will host a Conference on Neighborhood Concerns, from Wednesday through Saturday, May 20-23, at the Spokane Convention Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. Neighborhood leaders, grassroots organizers, government officials, and citizens are encouraged to attend. The cost is $325 and registration must be completed by Monday, May 11. Spokane-based Watson Co. will conduct a Seller's Seminar on Wednesday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to noon, at its office located at 1010 N. Normandie. Business owners interested in learning about the intricacies of selling a business are encouraged to attend. The cost is $50 and a second owner may attend for $25. Call 624-5291 to register.



The Inland Northwest chapter of the American Society for Training and Development will present a lunch presentation titled Four Easy Steps to Minimize Frustration, followed by a workshop titled Six Ways to Build a Better Team, on Wednesday, May 20, at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park, 303 W. North River Drive. The lunch presentation will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., and will be followed by the afternoon workshop, which will end at 3 p.m. The cost for the entire event is $50 for members or $75 for others, or participants may attend the lunch presentation only at a cost of $25 for members or $50 for others. The Spokane-area nonprofit organization Community Frameworks will present a free class titled Understanding Credit as part of its homebuyer education series, on Wednesday, May 20, at 6 p.m., at 315 W. Mission. Call 484-6733 ext. 117 to register.
