Cd'A real estate brokerage closes its Post Falls office

Beutler & Associates moves 30-person staff to headquarters complex

Century 21 Beutler & Associates, a prominent Coeur d'Alene-based real estate company, has moved its Post Falls agents and office employees to vacant space on its Coeur d'Alene campus.

The move, which involved about 30 people, is expected to result in some cost savings, says John Beutler, owner of the company.

"Given current market conditions and the economic climate, this is a fiscally responsible thing to do," Beutler says.

The move brings the company's total number of agents in Coeur d'Alene to about 180.

Beutler & Associates owns the single-story Post Falls office building, located at 1700 E. Schneidmiller, that it recently vacated.

The structure is just south of Interstate 90 and a few blocks west of Greensferry Road. It opened that office in 2004, during an upswing in the real estate market, says Candace Godwin, the company's marketing director.

The company plans to lease out the Post Falls building, although it doesn't have a tenant lined up yet, Godwin says.

Beutler & Associates bought a Century 21 franchise in 1997 after having been an independent brokerage for seven years, she says.

The company's headquarters have been located in a 16,200-square-foot, three-story building at 1836 Northwest Boulevard since the building opened in 2000.

It developed an adjacent three-story, 20,000-square-foot building there in 2006.

A portion of that building originally was occupied by Kootenai Title, which moved a few blocks southeast to the Northwest Place office building in 2007. Since then, Beutler & Associates has occupied both buildings, Godwin says.

Beutler & Associates specializes in residential, waterfront, and commercial sales. It also manages commercial property throughout the Inland Northwest, she says.

In addition to its Coeur d'Alene work force, the company has more than 70 agents based in offices in Spokane, Liberty Lake, Lewiston, and St. Maries. It has no plans to consolidate those offices, Godwin says.
