M.E. Uphus Construction Inc., of Spokane, has won a $300,000 contract to do bathroom repairs, some office remodeling, and construction of a 1,300-square-foot maintenance building and a Dumpster enclosure at Avista Stadium.
The county-owned baseball stadium, at 222 N. Havana, on the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center grounds, is home to the Spokane Indians baseball club.
Bret Lancaster, a buyer in Spokane County's purchasing department, which provides procurement services to county departments and agencies, says work on the project will start soon and must be completed by May 29, prior to the start of the Indians' 2009 season.
ALSC Architects PS completed the design work, he says.
Next year, he says, the county is looking to remodel the stadium's food concessions facilities.
