Tacoma, Washington-based restaurant supply store Bargreen Ellingson has promoted Tom Coppa to general manager for the Spokane branch from service manager. Coppa has been with Bargreeen Ellingson since 2010.

Spokane-based architectural firm Bernardo Wills has hired Helen Casey as a landscape designer. Casey graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in landscape architecture from the University of Idaho.

General contractor Swinerton Builders has hired Travis Bradford as senior estimator in its Spokane division. Bradford is the division's first dedicated estimator, and will lead reconstruction, estimation, and development efforts. Bradford has 24 years of construction industry experience.

Spokane-based nonprofit organization YMCA of the Inland Northwest has hired Nicolle Laporte as its chief financial officer. Laporte previously served as CFO for Spokane-based nonprofit Skils'kin.


Awards & Designations 

The Spokane-Coeur d'Alene Chapter of Women in Transportation Seminar has awarded Hannah Grimm, project designer at J-U-B Engineers' Coeur d'Alene office, Member of the Year; Jody Qualley, transportation engineer at Washington State Department of Transportation, Woman of the Year; and Jay Hassell, area manager at J-U-B Engineers Coeur d'Alene and Spokane office, the Ray LaHood Man of the Year. WSDOT was awarded Employer of the Year, GeoEnineers' Idaho Route 3-Goosehaven Road widening earned Project of the Year and Eastern Washington University student Christabel Agyei was awarded the Helene M. Overly Memorial Scholarship.


Spokane-based nonprofit organization YWCA Spokane has named to its board chair Linda Hendricksen, of AgWest; vice chair Yvonne Esquibel Smith, of Innovia Foundation; secretary Cari Grandstaff, of Kalispel Tribal Economic Authority; treasurer Jeri Self-Merritt, community volunteer; and past chair Mireya Fitzloff, of Foust Fab. YWCA Spokane also has appointed Amy Sargent, Anna Franklin, Bonnie Bush, Danielle LaBelle, Emily Morgan, Emily Sumner, Heather Rosentrater, Jennee' Pool, Jennifer Saxon, Jerrall Haynes, Lisa Simpson, and Mackenzie Kutz as 2024 board members.


Spokane-based wildlife conservation nonprofit organization The Lands Council has named Kate Vanskike, of Gonzaga University, president of its board of directors. Leroy Eadie, of Empire Health Foundation, and Nicole Sprankle Wilson, longtime property and casualty insurance agent, have joined The Lands Council 2024 Board of Directors.


Tacoma, Washington-based nonprofit health care organization MultiCare Health System's Community Partnership Fund has awarded $800,000 to nonprofit organizations across Washington state, including organizations in the Inland Northwest focused on addressing behavioral health, housing and homelessness, food insecurity, health care, and children's needs.


Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown has awarded Fairchild Air Force Base 92nd Logistics Readiness Squadron the Neal Fosseen Award, which recognizes the squadron's community service efforts in feeding, supporting, and organizing events for both Spokane and northern Idaho. 


American newspaper and news broadcasting company USA Today has nominated Spokane-based brewery No-Li Brewhouse LLC's No-Li Riverside Beer Garden as one of the Readers Choice 2024 Top 10 Best Beer Gardens in America.


American weekly news magazine Newsweek has named Spokane Valley-based Numerica Credit Union one of America's Best Regional Credit Unions for its commitment to the financial well-being of its members and communities.


Washington Policy Center has named Michael Baumgartner, current treasurer of Spokane County and former Washington state Senator for the 6th Legislative District, and Eleanor Baumgartner, former Boston-based consulting firm Bain & Co. management consultant, its Eastern Washington senior advisers.
