SNAP Financial Access to relocate following funding cuts

Move part of effort to ensure long-term sustainability of services

June 13, 2025
Journal of Business Staff

Spokane Neighborhood Action Partners is relocating its SNAP Financial Access subsidiary to its office at 3102 W. Whistalks Way from the Martin Luther King Jr. Family Outreach Center, at 500 S. Stone.

The move, which will happen at the end of June, is in response to significant cuts in government funding and is part of a broader effort to streamline operations and ensure long-term sustainability of essential services, according to a press release from the Spokane nonprofit.

"While the number of services we currently offer has been reduced, our commitment to helping Spokane residents stay housed and financially stable remains strong,” says senior manager of financial stability P.J. Ellis in the release. “Our executive team has developed a thoughtful plan to ensure we remain responsive, resilient, and responsible stewards of community trust.”

SNAP Financial Access will continue offering foreclosure prevention services, as well as small business loans and support for local entrepreneurs.

During this transition, SNAP will seek support from funders, apply for discretionary funds, and reduce its office footprint and staff costs.

Walk-in appointments will be unavailable between June 25 and June 30 during the move. Regular appointments will resume July 1 at the new location.
