Two Cd'A skilled nursing centers acquired

Acquisitions expand California company's Inland Northwest presence

July 31, 2025

Two skilled nursing facilities in Coeur d’Alene, Ivy Court and Silver Ridge Care, have been acquired by San Juan Capistrano, California-based The Ensign Group Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

The Journal’s attempt to reach The Ensign Group was not immediately successful.

“We are excited to add these two facilities to our increasing presence in Idaho,” says The Ensign Group CEO Barry Port in a press release. “Coeur d’Alene is an area that we are thrilled to be in and look forward to continued growth around these facilities.”

Ivy Court, now named Ironwood Rehabilitation & Care, has 80 beds and is located at 2200 Ironwood Place.

Silver Ridge Care, now called Lakeside Rehabilitation & Care Center, has 100 beds and is located at 210 W. Lacrosse.

The acquisitions were completed June 1. The facilities are operated by Pennant Healthcare LLC, The Ensign Group’s subsidiary for some of its Northwest holdings.

The transactions in Coeur d'Alene occurred roughly six months after another key Inland Northwest acquisition. Last December, The Ensign Group and its affiliates agreed to acquire eight skilled nursing and assisted-living care facilities from Providence, including Providence Emilie Court Assisted Living, a 60-unit facility at 34 E. Eighth, and Providence St. Joseph Care Center, a 112-bed skilled nursing facility, at 17 E. Eighth, both located on Spokane's lower South Hill.

Emilie Court is now named Legacy Court Senior Living, and St. Joseph is named South Hill Rehabilitation & Care Center.

South Hill Rehabilitation & Care Center is operated by Pennant Healthcare LLC, while Legacy Court Senior Living is operated by third-party company Hill Valley Healthcare LLC.

According to a Providence press release in December, the agreed-upon sale occurred due to nursing homes across the country struggling to keep up with persistent challenges, including a national shortage of caregivers, reimbursement from payers that has not kept up with inflation, and rising costs of pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment.

The Ensign Group has nearly 350 health care facilities in its portfolio across 17 states. The facilities offer skilled nursing and senior living services; physical, occupational, and speech therapies; and other rehabilitative and health care services.
