Lucent Law plans new office on North Side

Firm also slates remodel for main South Hill space

Lucent Law PLLC, of Spokane, plans to open a second office next month.

The new 600-square-foot office, to be located at 201 W. Francis, on Spokane’s North Side, will have room for three employees, bringing Lucent’s staff to a total of 11, says Brett Sullivan, a partner at Lucent.

The firm will hire an attorney, a limited practice officer, and a real-estate closing assistant for the North Side office, Sullivan says.

The office is expected to cater to a number of real estate clients in the area, he says.

“We want to take advantage of that market and provide more convenience and accessibility for what we do,” Sullivan says.

Vic Plese, of Plese Realty LLC, owns the North Side building and handled the transaction, Sullivan says.

The firm’s main office, which occupies 2,700-square feet of space at 1403 S. Grand, also will undergo a remodel within the next two months, Sullivan says. The project will include updated signage, carpets, and interior paint.

A contractor hasn’t been selected yet, he says.

The South Hill office originally served as the home to the offices of Spokane law firm Hennessy & Edwards PS for 25 years, before the firm merged with Lucent last year. Lucent moved there from smaller quarters at 827 W. First.

Lucent’s main practice areas include real estate, estate planning and probate, business, owners’ associations, and loan closings, Sullivan says.

In addition to being licensed in the state of Washington, Spencer Stromberg, attorney and partner at Lucent, is also licensed in Idaho.

Stromberg and Sullivan are updating technology to make documents more accessible for clients.

“This is part of our push to become more of an electronic or digital office, where documents are stored digitally rather than in paper form,” Sullivan says. “So, with this new online platform we’ve been launching, clients, users, and brokers can access all documents electronically.”

Sullivan stresses that the firm will use security similar to what title insurance companies use to prevent system comprises from outside sources.

“We have full confidence in the security of this platform,” Sullivan says.

Lucent also provides a fixed-rate fee for services, which means that clients won’t be charged by an hourly rate and prices won’t vary based on duration of cases.
