Puppy Pad adds a second store

Restaurants & Retail

October 25, 2018

The Puppy Pad, a pet grooming salon and doggy daycare business on Spokane’s North Side, has opened a second store at 1928 W. York.

Owner Christina Huckins says the new shop, called The Puppy Pad Too, is a 500-square-foot, grooming-only space that’s operated by longtime employee Lucas Upton.

She says the new salon space, which opened Sept. 24, has a quieter atmosphere.

“Some dogs are a bit more nervous, or aggressive with other dogs, so the slower pace and quiet environment is ideal for them,” she says.

Huckins says she opened the first Puppy Pad store in a 3,000-square-foot space at 7810 N. Market in 2011.

“We plan to expand to 4,500 square feet by early next month, as we’d like to add to our daycare and boarding capabilities,” she says.

Puppy Pad currently employs 10 people in all.
