Senske Lawn acquires Boise-area competitor

Company has bought two other businesses this year

Senske Lawn & Tree Care says it has acquired Lucky Lawns, a lawn and tree care provider based in Meridian, Idaho.

Although it is now headquartered in Kennewick, Senske Lawn started in 1947 in Spokane Valley, and it maintains a sizable operation at 7115 E. Cataldo.

Senske Lawn & Tree Care provides lawn care, pest control, Christmas lighting, and ground maintenance services, through a total of 12 branches throughout Washington, Idaho, Utah, and Nevada.  Locally, the company is contracted to maintain the Spokane Valley park system.

The company has about 450 employees, 80 of whom are employed at the Spokane Valley branch, and another 25 of whom operate out of the company’s Coeur d’Alene office.

Chris Senske, president of Senske Lawn & Tree Care, says the transaction was finalized in mid-September, and Senske has added several of Lucky Lawn’s employees to the company.

“It was nice to be able to pick up some of Lucky Lawn’s quality employees and add them to our Meridian team,” he says. “Since that time, they have been training with us, preparing to go into the field and begin working alongside us.”

Senske says the latest acquisition is the company’s third in the past year, and he describes it as a strategic move.

“This was an opportunity to tuck Lucky Lawn’s customers into our existing customer base in the Meridian area,” he says. “We’re always looking for ways to improve efficiency and add great employees. This is just one method by which we chose to grow and serve customers more efficiently.”

The other two acquisitions were Headman Lawn Care, of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Seattle-based Washington Tree Service Inc.
