Douglass to build 24-unit apartment building here

Project to be located near three other complexes he owns in North Spokane

May 24, 2012

Spokane developer Harlan Douglass has filed plans with the city of Spokane for a new 24-unit apartment building on Spokane's North Side, near three other residential complexes he owns there.

A commercial building permit on file with the city lists the value of the project at $2.6 million. The structure is to be located on an approximately 1-acre site at 6610 N. Cincinnati, at the northeast corner of Cincinnati and Holyoke Avenue, one block west of Nevada Street.

Douglass couldn't be reached for comment on the project, but building plans show that the three-story building will be called the Quadrangle Addition.

Douglass owns a four-building apartment complex called the Quadrangle that's located on the same block and just east of the new building's site.

He also owns a six-building complex, called Lyons Court, on the block north of where the new building is to be located. On the block to the south, Douglass owns another four-building apartment complex, called Knightsbridge.

The building plans for the new apartment structure show that each floor will include eight living units—four one-bedroom, one-bathroom units and four two-bedroom, two-bathroom units. The total size of the building is listed as roughly 28,000 square feet of floor space.

Building plans list Haines Architec-tural Services, of Spokane, as the project architect. A contractor for the new building wasn't listed in the plans.
