Free Screening Mammogram Day planned

January 13, 2011

Inland Imaging, of Spokane, says it will hold a "Free Screening Mammography Day" on Friday, Jan. 21, at all of its imaging centers here.

"It is our goal to target eligible women that fall between being insured and those that qualify for full supplemental financial assistance," says Jason Miller, an Inland Imaging spokesman. "We believe there to be a large population of small-business owners, employers with high deductible plans, and those that are self-employed such as real estate agents or hair stylists that don't have insurance, but make too much to qualify for assistance."

Participating women must be over 40 years old and have a referring physician to whom Inland Imaging can send the results. Miller says they need to stop by one of Inland Imaging's imaging centers to obtain a coupon and reserve a time for their screening. Those centers are located in the Sacred Heart Doctors Building, at 105 W. Eighth; at Providence Holy Family Hospital, 5715 N. Lidgerwood; and at 525 S. Cowley; 1923 S. Grand Blvd.; 220 E. Rowan; 12420 E. Mission; and in Deer Park, at 702 S. Park Ave.

The screenings will be offered from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Inland Imaging has the capacity to do 640 screenings that day and hopes to do at least 500, Miller says.
