The Washington state Department of Ecology will hold a public meeting to discuss the updated construction storm water general permit on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m., at the CenterPlace event center, at 2426 N. Discovery Place, in Spokane Valley. The construction storm water permit helps developers in preventing muddy water from leaving construction sites, which can be an environmental contaminant. The Spokane Chapter of the Washington State Society of Certified Professional Accountants will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from noon to 1 p.m., at the Spokane Club, 1002 W. Riverside. Speaker Kim Anderson will present a program on introduction to negotiations. The cost to attend is $30, and lunch is included. Greater Spokane Incorporated, with Gonzaga University, will host an event titled Good Morning Greater Spokane, on Friday, Sept. 10, from 7:15 to 9 a.m., at The Spokane Club, 1002 W. Riverside. Jason Swain, manager of Employee and Organization Development, at Gonzaga, will speak. The Sloan Awards also will be presented at the event. Workshops & Seminars
Sustainable Land Investment Partners, a nonprofit here dedicated to helping local businesses go green, will host a panel discussion and focus group on local sustainable investing in the Spokane area on Thursday, Sept. 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the downtown branch of the Spokane Public Library, at 906 W.
