The Spokane Regional Health District, in partnership with the Healthy Food Access Group, will host an Edible Landscaping Workshop, on Friday, June 18, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Trent Elementary School auditorium, 3303 N. Pines, in Spokane Valley. Rosalind Creasy, author and creator of the concept of edible landscapes, will speak. The cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. For information, call 324-1530.



The Spokane Homebuilders Association will hold a Showcase of Green Homes, beginning Friday, June 18, and continuing through Sunday, June 27. The show will be open Monday through Friday from 3 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the River District of Liberty Lake, located off of Interstate 90 exit 296. Tickets are $8 per person and children 12 and under are free. Demonstrations will include energy efficiency, solar power, wind efficiency, and landscaping. The City of Spokane and Spokane Transit will hold a public open house on the Spokane Downtown Transit Alternative Analysis, on Tuesday, June 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Spokane Arena, 720 W. Mallon.
