Masonry office builds bigger facility here

Montana concern needs more space for branch

October 1, 2009
David Cole

Anderson Masonry Inc., of Bigfork, Mont., is building a 5,500-square-foot office and shop building at its branch office in Spokane Valley, says Ian Anderson, project manager for the company.

Anderson Masonry is a masonry contracting company that does residential, commercial, industrial, and restoration work, the company's Web site says.

The office here is located at 6022 E. Baldwin, and until recently had occupied a former house and garage, which now have been razed, says Anderson.

He declines to say what the project will cost, but city of Spokane Valley documents show the value at $650,000.

The building is being constructed by Anderson Masonry, and Wolfe Architectural Group PS, of Spokane, is the architect, Anderson says.

The branch had been using a house and large garage-like structure with a combined 1,500 square feet of floor space, Anderson says. Those structures were too small for the operation, and needed updating, he says. The house was built in the 1930s or 1940s.

Construction on the new branch office building started this summer and is expected to be completed by the first of next year, Anderson says.

The Spokane Valley branch office has two employees, he says. It was established in 1989.
