Grace Baptist Church of Post Falls is building a 7,800-square-foot church on five acres of land it owns on Hayden Avenue northwest of Post Falls.

Bruce Lyles, the church's building committee spokesman, says the structure will cost about $700,000 to build, and its address will be 13329 W. Hayden. The church paid $100,000 for the property in March 2008.

Currently, the church is conducting services at the Post Falls Theater, at 1486 Seltice Way, Lyles says.

The new building will have a sanctuary, four classrooms, a nursery, a kitchen, a fellowship hall, two offices, and other spaces, Lyles says. A parking lot also will be constructed.

The foundation was poured earlier this summer, and construction of the walls and roof started last month, he says. The plan is to have the exterior completed before winter.

ML Architect & Associates Inc., of Post Falls, is the project architect.

Much of the construction is being done by volunteers, and the project will be paid for with donations, Lyles says. He says Grossglauser Construction Inc., of Post Falls, is consulting on the project and providing some construction work.

Grace Baptist Church is an affiliate of the Baptist Missionary Association of America, based in Little Rock, Ark.
