Meetings & Events
Washington Trust Bank is hosting a personal document Shred Day on Friday, July 17, from noon to 4 p.m. at its Lincoln Heights branch, at 2415 E. 29th. Attendees may bring up to two small boxes of personal documents to shred at no charge, with a fee for additional amounts of paper. Call James Mellott at 353-3334 for more information.



The Davenport Hotel & Tower, in partnership with the family farms of Shepherd's Grain, of Reardan, Wash., will hold a three-day event, titled Face Behind the Food—Shepherd's Grain Sustainable Farming Event, from Monday through Wednesday, July 20-22. The event will include a visit to a Shepherd's Grain farm, a presentation of sustainable farming practices, roundtable discussions with leaders in the food industry, meals featuring locally-grown products, and other activities. KYRS-Thin Air Community Radio, 92.3 and 89.9 FM, will host a Spokane City Council primary candidates' forum on Friday, July 24, at 6 p.m. at Auntie's Bookstore, 402 W. Main. The event will be broadcast live on KYRS. For information, contact Lupito Flores at 747-3012.

Workshops & Seminars
National Seminars Training Group, of Shawnee Mission, Kan., will present a workshop, titled How to be an Outstanding Communicator, on July 24, at the Spokane Mirabeau Hotel, at N. 1100 Sullivan, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $179. The group also will present Workplace Safety & OSHA Compliance, on July 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park, at 303 W. North River Drive, at a cost of $199.
