Concrete footings for buildings and backstop posts for new softball fields have been installed recently at the site of the planned Albi-Merkel Sports Complex west of Assembly Street, in northwest Spokane. Bouten Construction Co., of Spokane, is the general contractor for the $7.8 million first phase of that big project, which will include multiple playfields, a park, trails, and other amenities.
