Crews do infrastructure work next to planted playfields at the Albi-Merkel Sports Complex being developed west of Assembly Street, in northwest Spokane. In the background, a concession building is framed and moving toward finish work. Bouten Construction Co., of Spokane, is the general contractor for the $7.8 million first phase of the project, which will include multiple playfields, a neighborhood park, trails, more than 1,000 parking stalls, and other amenities.
