Meetings & Events
The Home-Based Business Connection group will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., at the Spokane Regional Business Center, 801 W. Riverside. Coleen Quisenberry, of Spokane-based Quisenberry Marketing & Design, will be the featured speaker. Call 459-4118 for information.

Workshops & Seminars
The National Seminars Training Group will present Managing Inventories and Cycle Counts on Monday, Jan. 5, at a cost of $249; and The Sales and Use Tax Seminar, on Monday, Jan. 12, at a cost of $199. The North Idaho College Idaho Small Business Development Center will present a series of workshops to help entrepreneurs. Workshops will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month, beginning on Jan. 6 at the NIC Workforce Training Center, 525 W. Clearwater Loop, in Post Falls. The classes will conclude Nov. 3, but won't be held in July and August. The cost is $495. Call (208) 769-3284 to register.



Spokane-based consulting group Ovation will present a three-part workshop series for potential and current business owners beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 7, with a workshop titled Small Group Presentation, followed by Audience Management, on Jan. 14, and concluding with Vision and Message Development, on Jan. 21. Workshops will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce, 9507 E. Sprague, at a cost of $35 each. Call 844-4729 for information.



The Spokane chapter of the Washington Society of Professional Engineers will host a workshop and discussion titled From Project Engineer to Project Manager: Look Before You Leap, on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 8:15 to 10 a.m., at Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute, 400 W. The Spokane chapter of the Washington Society of CPAs will hold a seminar titled Economic Outlook 2009 on Wednesday, Jan. 14, from noon to 1:15 p.m., at the Spokane Club, 1002 W. Riverside, at a cost of $25. Call 1-800-272-8273 to regiser.
