A Spokane developer plans to build an $11.4 million, 144-unit apartment complex west of the Mirabeau area in Spokane Valley.
The developer, HAL Valley Apartments LLC, has obtained building permits to construct a six-building complex, to be called Granite Pointe Apartments, at 12707 E. Mansfield, city of Spokane Valley planning records show.
Bill Lawson, a principal in HAL Valley, was unavailable for comment.
The 9.2-acre site is undeveloped land a few blocks east of Pines Road and roughly the same distance north of Interstate 90, a project site plan on file with the city shows. Access to the project will be from the east through a 1,500-foot extension of Mansfield Avenue, which currently terminates east of the site, says Jodi Main, of the citys building department.
The complex will consist of one 48-unit apartment building, four 24-unit buildings, and a recreation building, the site plan shows.
Each apartment structure is planned to have three stories, and the apartment units are to range in size from one to three bedrooms and 650 square feet to 1,100 square feet of floor space.
The 2,400-square-foot recreation facility will include a meeting room with a kitchen, an exercise room, a spa, and an office and reception area, the site plan shows. It also shows an outdoor swimming pool adjacent to the recreation building.
Wyatt Architects & Associates PS, of Spokane Valley, designed the complex, and J.R. Bonnett Engineering LLC, of Spokane, is listed as the civil engineer.
Lawson, a longtime Spokane contractor, also is part owner of River Rock LLC, which developed River Rock Apartments, a 168-unit complex northeast of the Pines Road-Interstate 90 interchange.
